James Love
He/Him
Licensed Clinical Mental health counselor intern
I’m here to support individuals who want to better understand themselves, manage difficult emotions, and navigate periods of stress, change, or uncertainty. Many of the people I work with come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to make sense of what they’re experiencing—and I aim to create a space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported.
I take a person-centered approach and draw from Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, while building practical tools to help you navigate challenges and move toward meaningful change.
I hope to provide a safe, welcoming space where you can reflect honestly, speak openly, and work at your own pace. Some people find short-term sessions helpful for addressing specific concerns, while others benefit from longer-term work—we’ll collaborate to figure out what best supports your goals.
I’m currently completing supervised clinical training as a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Wake Forest University. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and have experience working in education and with diverse populations, including neurodiverse individuals and those navigating life transitions. I provide counseling under the supervision of licensed clinicians in accordance with North Carolina regulations.
Sessions with me are offered at a reduced rate of $10.00 per visit.
