Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor ASSOCIATE, LCMHCA
My journey into clinical counseling began nearly a decade ago, sparked by a powerful experience with a student during my years as a classroom teacher. On the surface, she was thriving—bright, articulate, and well-liked—but one afternoon she sat in my classroom in tears, unraveling. I offered the support I could: compassion, poetry we both loved, and encouragement to seek help. But in that moment, I realized how much more I wanted to offer—not just care, but clinical tools that could truly support healing. That experience stayed with me and eventually led me to pursue a new career in counseling.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 13 years as a teacher and mentor, supporting students and new educators through both personal and academic challenges. Now, as I begin my work as a counselor, I bring that deep relational experience into the therapeutic space. My clinical training includes working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship concerns.
I take a holistic and person-centered approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that we are multi-dimensional beings with emotional, physical, spiritual, and social needs. I primarily work from a humanistic lens, drawing from Person-Centered, Narrative, and Existential therapies. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness-based, values-driven approach that promotes psychological flexibility. In addition, I’m trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, and Trauma-Focused ACT—trauma-informed approaches that I integrate based on client needs.
My goal is to create a collaborative, compassionate space where you can explore your story, clarify your values, and take meaningful steps toward healing and fulfillment. Therapy is most effective when it’s a shared process, and I will offer tools, reflection, and support as we work toward the goals we set together.
